ALBANY, Ga. – On Saturday morning, police responded to Slappey Boulevard about an injured person who was trapped in a trash compactor, according to WGXA.
EMS and the Albany Fire Department were already on scene and advised police that the person was deceased. Investigators determined that the woman, Rebecca Hess, the compactor moved forward while she was attempting to retrieve something out of the compactor, trapping her head and right leg. It is believed that Hess was trapped in that position for a long period of time.
Police say that Hess’ death was ruled accidental and the case was turned over to investigations.
