Release:

The City of Valdosta invites the community to attend on September 7th for the 4th annual VFD 9/11 5k Memorial Run, where we will honor the heroes of September 11th, 2001!

This meaningful event is a tribute to those we lost and the brave first responders who sacrificed everything. The race will have a patriotic theme, so get creative with your attire and signs! Let’s line the course in red, white, and blue to show solidarity.

Don’t miss Mayor Matheson’s inspiring speech at 7:45 am, followed by the race start at 8 am sharp. We’ll kick off from 120 N Patterson Street, Downtown Valdosta, with a fast out-and-back course.

Secure your spot early for just $25 until August 25th, 2024. Late entry is $30 until September 6th and $35 on race day. First responders and military, your entry fee is only $10 as our heartfelt thanks for your service when you run in full gear.

And here’s the best part: 100% of the race proceeds will support the incredible work of Valor Service Dogs.

Mark your calendars, lace up your shoes, and let’s run to remember. See you at the starting line! https://tinyurl.com/VFDMemorial5k
