W.G. Nunn Benefits from “Operation Warm Heart”

W.G. Nunn Elementary School was selected as one of the recipients of a winter coat donation from the Kappa Psi Sigma alumni chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. The group of new initiates to the sorority’s alumni chapter were tasked with implementing a community service project. They called this project “Operation Warm Heart,” and were able to assist several counties in the surrounding area.

One of the organizers of the project, Deanna Brooks, said that as an educator with Valdosta City Schools, she is able to see the needs of some of the schools and recommended W. G. Nunn for the Lowndes County/Valdosta area. The school counselors, Mollie Barnes and Dr. Davesha Miller, will oversee distribution of the coats to students and families.
