LMS earns Cattle Herdsman Award for FFA at GA National Fair

LMS FFA Received Cattle Herdsman Award 

The Lowndes County FFA livestock team competed Oct 8-11 at the Georgia National Fair Cattle show and GA Jr National Goat Show.  The Lowndes Middle FFA team earned top honors as the Cattle Herdsman Award Reserve Champion, an award based on teamwork, knowledge of animal husbandry, and team professional standards.  In addition, the team brought home the following individual placings: Jalie Montgomery (LMS) with Red bull (1st place class 3 Hereford steers), Lacey Montgomery (LMS) with Peaches (2nd place class xx commercial heifers), Landen Zipperer (LHS) with Dynamite (2nd place class 1 Maine Anjou steers), Wade Ross (LMS) with Maggie (7th place class 12 commercial heifers), Braylynn Moore (LMS) with Buddy (9th place class 3 crossbred steer), Henry Stone (LMS) with Ribeye and Layton Zipperer with Oreo (2nd place and 5th place, respectively, class 3 simmental steers), Lacey Montgomery with Bullwinkle (2nd place class 1 shorthorn steers), Jake Player with Coco (10th place showmanship) Haley Jackson (LMS) with Clarisse and Rosie (7th place class 40 does, 8th place class 41 dies, respectively), Cassidy Whiting with Blaze (6th place class 12 wethers), Gracie Pollock (LMS) with Rambo ( x place class x wethers, Wade Ross with Sam (7th place class 16 wethers).  For more information about the Lowndes Livestock Team, contact FFA Advisor, Pamela Ross, Lowndes Middle School FFA.
