One of Two Burglary Suspects Arrested

VALDOSTA — One of two suspects related to a Sunday night burglary is under arrest as Valdosta Police investigate a break in.

Sunday night, at approximately 2:47 am, the Valdosta Police Department responded to a call at the 1600 block of Slater Street in reference to a concerned citizen seeing two African American males carrying items from behind a church.

Officers responded to the alleyway behind the church where two males were seen and located one of the males later identified as Jermaine Rowe.

Rowe fled on a bicycle, then on foot, and after a short pursuit, was apprehended. When Rowe was first spotted by officers, he was carrying a plastic bag which contained a television.

Officers in the area later discovered that an apartment at 1605 Slater Street had been burglarized.

Rowe was transported to the Lowndes County Jail and is being charged with Burglary and 2 counts of Obstruction of a Law Enforcement Officer. The other offender has not yet been located.
