Brooks-County-LogoQUITMAN- Berrien, Brooks, Lowndes, Tift and Valdosta City administrators, teacher leaders and leadership teams, The Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE) and local RESA partners held two days of professional learning sessions hosted at the Brooks County Schools Board of Education. The sessions were the first in an initiative that will span several years and focuses on transformational change.

The professional learning sessions provided by PAGE will help school personnel develop a deeper understanding of the needs of their students and community. The focus of the work is to provide educators with processes and strategies for systemic and continuous change based on self- identified needs and district standards. The ultimate outcome is a focus on the core business of the district –to provide challenging and engaging work to students.

Dr. Allene Magill, PAGE Executive Director stated that support from each districts’ community, parents and businesses strengthens the schools and in order for transformation to occur all must work together to develop a common understanding of the need for change in education, student engagement and the quality of work provided to students and staff.
