VPD Seeking Public’s Help Finding Jewelry Theives

Valdosta-Police-Car-SideVALDOSTA, GA – The Valdosta Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding the suspects in a burglary at a local Valdosta business.

Early Thursday morning, at approximately 12:00 a.m., a burglary occurred at Steele’s Jewelry, 3338 Country Club Road, Valdosta, according to reports. Unknown offenders entered the business by breaking the glass on the front door. A number of glass jewelry cases were broken and an undetermined amount of jewelry was taken. At this time the value of the jewelry is undetermined.

Some jewelry that had been removed from the case was recovered close to the scene. A concerned citizen reported to 911 suspicious activity in proximity to the business and at that time police officers were dispatched.

Upon arrival at the scene, a search of the business and the area surrounding the business did not yield any suspects. Crime Scene Personnel from the Valdosta Lowndes Regional Crime Laboratory responded to the scene.
