Moody-Air-Force-Base-EntranceMOODY AIR FORCE BASE, GA – Moody AFB and Valdosta State University leaders are scheduled to ceremoniously sign a training agreement between the VSU Athletic Training Department and the 23d Medical Group today at Moody AFB.

The partnership allows VSU athletic training students to gain unique hands-on experience working with warrior athletes, or Airmen in physically demanding career fields, and exposure to the Air Force mission. Student interns will have the opportunity to assess and treat musculoskeletal injuries while developing individualized fitness programs designed to optimize the human weapon system, promote operationalized medicine, and simultaneously augment Moody’s medical staff.

The collaboration between Moody AFB and VSU is a product of the Air Force Community Partnership Initiative, which began at Moody in April 2013. The initiative provides a framework through which installation and public/private sector community leaders can develop creative ways to leverage their capabilities and resources to reduce costs or reduce risks by finding shared value.
