Unlike several other states, driving while using your hazards is still legal in Georgia. However, officials strongly urge drivers to not use them while driving, says AJC.

What drivers don’t realize is the harm that it potentially puts them and other drivers in. Driving with hazards makes it difficult for the other drivers to see if the vehicles ahead are breaking. Hazard lights also prevent the driver from using the turn signal.

Hazard lights are intended to be used when a vehicle is stopped or disabled on the road. They are a way for emergency vehicles to know that someone is in need of assistance. Officials suggest that if you cannot see, pull over to the side of the road until driving conditions improve.
