Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, Willis Johnson, Kylie Jenner— these are just a few of the world’s economically elite who have, collectively, amassed earnings of 1.2 trillion dollars in the past year.

According to Bloomberg, “Such gains are sure to add fuel to the already heated debate about widening wealth and income inequality. In the U.S., the richest 0.1% control a bigger share of the pie than at any time since 1929…” This growth adds to the total net worth of the top 500 economically wealthy persons in the world. They now, in total, net at about $5.9 trillion.
