BRUNSWICK, Ga. – Coast Guard Commander Matt Baer says that the Golden Ray is slowly sinking into the sand after it capsized just over a month ago, according to Fox5.

Baer is a member of the Unified Command tasked with removing the ship and says that the sinking is making it impossible to safely return the ship to its upright position, which is causing a bigger problem.

Reports of possible pollutants from the ship have been reported by citizens, however, divers are going inside and removing all possible contaminants that could pollute the area.
