VALDOSTA– On Oct.4, Teachers’ Harvest of Second Harvest of South Georgia received 1,380 Classroom Packs from Yoobi, a school supply program that gives back to the community. Since then, Teachers’ Harvest has given away more than 400 Yoobi school supply boxes to k-3rd grade teachers across 30 counties.

Eliza McCall, Second Harvest Chief Marketing Officer reported that there are roughly 900 boxes left for qualifying teachers to pick up. Yoobi and Teachers’ Harvest work with the Kids in Need Foundation, which provides free school supplies to classrooms across the U.S.

Every time someone purchases a Yoobi product that same product is contributed to a Yoobi Classroom Pack. Once the Classroom Pack box is filled with supplies, Yoobi donates the box to a classroom in need located within the U.S. The Classroom Pack items are created for grades k-3 and filled with: 90 3-packs of No. 2 pencils, 60 glue sticks, 30 erasers, 30 pencil sharpeners, 30 rulers, 30 folders,  30 glue bottles, 30 pencil cases, 30  5-packs of crayons, 30 5-packs of colored pencils, 30 5-packs of markers, and 5 scissors.

“It’s great to see entrepreneurs taking on a cause like this, making philanthropy not just a priority but a core piece of the business model.  What a wonderful example of how an innovative approach can make a tremendous difference,” McCall said.

Teachers are limited to one box and can pick up a box during the operation hours of, Tuesday-Thursday, 3:00-6:00 pm. Due to the holidays Teachers’ Harvest will be closed Nov. 25, 26, 27 and will be open on Saturday, Dec. 6.
