Valdosta, GA– Early this Monday morning, Second Harvest of South Georgia received a remarkable donation from Land O’Lakes, Inc. The donation came in the form of 40,000 pounds of Land O’ Lakes® Macaroni & Cheese.
The bountiful donation will be used for both the Second Harvest’s Kids Café program and delivered to those in need through their network of partner agencies across South Georgia. Nearly 30,000 meals will be provided to children, families and seniors in need in our community due to this donation.
“This product donation is particularly beneficial to Second Harvest – pairing shelf-stability with high nutritional value. It’s especially welcome during the summer months when so many area struggle with hunger,” said Frank Richards, President and CEO of Second Harvest. Land O’Lakes has provided us with a childhood favorite that’s both nutritious and delicious to help us alleviate this issue, and for that, we are exceptionally grateful.”
Land O’Lakes has committed to donate truckloads of fresh product, made specifically for donation to food banks quarterly to help alleviate hunger nationwide, as part of their First Run Program. The First Run program is part of Land O’Lakes’ Feeding Our Communities initiative.
