Three GA High Schoolers Taken In 1st Round Of MLB Draft

baseball glove bat on grassNew York, NY- For three Georgia high schoolers, June 6th will be a night to remember. For the first time in the draft’s history, three high schoolers from the same state were drafted in the first round.

Clint Frazier, an outfielder from Loganville High School, was taken 5th overall by the Cleveland Indians. Just four picks later, the Pirates selected Austin Meadows from Grayson High School.

Another Georgian will be heading into the Texas Rangers organization, as shortstop Travis Demeritte from Winder Barrow HS was taken with the 30th overall pick.
