Valdosta, GA- VSU’s softball team has taken one step closer to repeating as Division II Champions, as they dispatched of GSC rival Alabama-Huntsville in three games on Saturday.

After VSU knocked off UAH 5-3 on Friday afternoon, Huntsville came back to take game two by a 5-4 margin. The third and deciding game, however, proved to be completely unlike the first two.

A five-run 2nd inning propelled the Blazers to a 8-3 win over the Chargers in the late game on Saturday afternoon. VSU’s Super Regional title means they will head to the Division II Championships in Salem, Virginia.

The final eight will play their double-elimination tournament beginning on Thursday, May 23rd. The Blazers will open their title defense at 2:30pm against Molloy College (NY).
