ATHENS — The Georgia men’s tennis team climbed one spot to No. 3 in this week’s national rankings following last week’s performance at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships. This marks the Bulldogs’ highest ranking of the season.

Oklahoma is ranked No. 1, followed by USC, Georgia, Virginia, Baylor, Illinois, Duke, North Carolina, Ohio State and Texas to round out the top-10.

Georgia (6-2) won two-matches against top-15 teams last weekend in Chicago. The Bulldogs beat No. 15 Columbia, 4-3, then downed tournament host Illinois in the quarterfinals 4-2. Two of the six wins this year have been against teams ranked in the top-five, and the only losses have been to then-No. 1 USC.

The Bulldogs will be back in action for its first scheduled outdoor match of the season against Furman at 2:30 p.m. Admission to all regular season matches is free at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.
