Valdosta > Judge Hatchett Visits VSU For Scholarship Dinner

VALDOSTA — On Tuesday, Feb. 24, Glenda Hatchett, host of the “Judge Hatchett” television show will be speaking at Valdosta State University’s Thomas-Pierce Scholarship Dinner. The semi-formal event will be held at 7 p.m. in the Student Union Ballroom.

The scholarship was created in 2013 for first-generation college students with a 3.0 GPA and a satisfactory academic performance. The scholarship is named after Drewnell Thomas and Robert Pierce, the first two African-American students to attend VSU in 1963.

The event is open to everyone, it is $20 for VSU students and $30 for all other attendees.

There are two options for those that would like to sponsor the event.  The first, a $650 fee, which includes a table that seats eight and recognition in the event program. The second, a $1,000 fee, which includes a table that seats eight, recognition in the event program, and a VIP meet-and-greet with Judge Hatchett.

The Office of Social Equity, the Black History Month Committee, and the Student Government Association will be hosting this year’s scholarship dinner.

For those wanting to purchase tickets, sponsor the event or make a donation can visit the Office of Social Equity in the Seago House on North Patterson Street. They will be collecting funds now through Wednesday, Feb. 18.
