WIREGRASS GRANT  |  VALDOSTA — A Valdosta neurosurgeon has made a donation to the Health Sciences program at Valdosta’s Wiregrass Georgia Technical College.

Dr. Ed Mark and his wife have made a donation of $1,000,000 to the technical college.  It represents the largest individual donation in the institution’s history.

POLITICAL LUNCHEON  |  THOMASVILLE — A Women in Politics luncheon was held in Thomasville, hosted by State Representative Darlene Taylor. The lawmaker cited apathy as a major problem in getting women to vote. Taylor held the luncheon to encourage women in the Thomasville area to make their voices heard at the ballot box and even ended the affair ahead of schedule so that the participants could cast early ballots.
