Grand Opening for 2013-2014 School Year for Teachers’ Harvest

teacher-apple-desk-pencilThe Teacher’s Harvest (TH) program hits three years. The Grand Opening for the 2013-2014 School Year for the Teacher’s Harvest program is Monday, July 29th. Thus far, nearly $1.5 million in products have been distributed and 2,500 teachers have been served so far.

The Teacher’s Harvest program allows for teachers to shop more often and provides free school supplies.

To celebrate the Grand Opening for the 2013-2014 school year, prizes will be given away every half hour while hotdogs will be on the grill for shoppers. This will be a festive and fun experience for teachers and students alike.

WHEN: Monday, July 29 from 8 am-5pm

WHERE: Teachers’ Harvest, located on the back side of Second Harvest of South Georgia, 1411 Harbin Circle in Valdosta, GA

WHO: TH provides teachers in area public schools with free school supplies

WHY: TH’s purpose is to  combat the cycle of poverty by providing area teachers with free school supplies.

HOW: By the hard work of staff and volunteers for Second Harvest of South Georgia and donations from Kids in Need Foundation.
