ATLANTA – State School Superintendent Richard Woods releases a statement on Governor Brian Kemp’s FY26 budget proposal.

“Governor Kemp’s FY26 budget proposal includes $523 million to fully fund K-12 education, $159 million to strengthen school safety initiatives, and funding for school transportation, equipment grants for high school technical education labs, and mental health supports in the form of crisis counseling training and additional school psychologists. This is a budget that continues to build on the investments made by Governor Kemp and the legislature over the last six years to ensure safe schools and a strong education for Georgia’s 1.7 million K-12 students.”
