Kemp changes course on mask mandates

Share with friends

After opposing local face mask mandates for months, Governor Kemp reversed course on Saturday by signing an executive order that gives many Georgia cities/counties the ability to require masks in public in order to slow the spread of COVID-19.

Some cities and counties that were previously unwilling to go against Kemp’s ban on mask mandates are quickly moving to apply them.

While the order does not give full authority on requiring masks, it does give any Georgia city or county the ability to require masks on government property, and allows broader restrictions if the county meets certain criteria.

You can read the order HERE.
