TALLAHASSEE, FL – According to a WCTV report, a local vendor who serviced the Leon County Detention Facility has tested positive for the COVID-19. Deputies say the vendor had visited the facility three separate times after visiting New York state, a known hotspot for COVID-19.
No inmates have shown coronavirus symptoms, but two employees who had contact with the vendor are self-isolating.
Precautionary measures are being taken with three inmates who were exposed to the vendor, according to the Leon County Sheriff’s Office. Those inmates were tested for COVID-19 and the results are pending.
