ATLANTA, GA – Governor Brian Kemp, along with Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan and House Speaker David Ralston, will hold a press conference Monday at the Capitol starting at 4 p.m. Gov. Kemp is expected to lay out his plan to reopen Georgia’s economy during the COVID-19 pandemic, including a timeline on easing restrictions that have forced businesses to temporarily close and millions of residents to stay home.

Kemp is facing the pressure of balancing efforts to contain the spread of coronavirus while the financial toll on the state’s economy continues to grow. An increasing amount of critics say he should immediately lift restrictions on the sectors of the economy that have seriously deteriorated during the lockdown and shelter-in-place orders.
