ATLANTA — In a follow up to Thursday’s shooting of a security guard at a Buckhead office tower, Atlanta Police now say he was shot by a colleague.

The Atlanta Journal Constitution is reporting that Dexter Harper, 26, has been charged with the shooting death of Emmanuel C. Nwankwo, 23 of Riverdale.  Harper is now at the Fulton County Jail.

There has been no motive announced by police as of this report.  A spokesman for the Atlanta Police Department told the Atlanta Journal Constitution that there may have been an argument between the two men that escalated into gunfire.

The building, 3300 Peachtree Road, where the two guards work is in Atlanta’s upscale Buckhead area and houses office for Georgia State University J. Mack Robinson College of Business as well as several realty firms.

Nwankwo was shot mulitple times according to the report and died at the scene.  The incident was reported to have occurred around 5 a.m. on Thursday.
