GRAND RIDGE — Authorities say four children and one adult are dead after an Interstate 10 crash in the Florida Panhandle.
The Florida Highway Patrol reports that Sabrina Turk, 32 of Winder, was driving east on I-10 in a small car Sunday afternoon when the vehicle she was driving crossed the center line for an unknown reason and skidded into the oncoming lanes.
Reports then state a pickup truck hit the car’s passenger side, ejecting an adult in the passenger seat and four children, ages 6 to 11, in the backseat. Turk was critically injured. All the passengers were killed.
Troopers say no one in the car was wearing a seat belt.
Officials say the pickup overturned as a result of the collison but came to rest upright. The driver of the pickup and two of his passengers suffered minor injuries, with a third passenger in the truck seriously injured.
Charges have not been filed as of this report.
