TAMPA — No serious injuries were reported after authorities say a Tampa Bay area school bus crashed into a pond and overturned.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office reports that the bus was carrying students from Mary E. Bryant Elementary School through Odessa Thursday afternoon when it left the road, went into the pond and fell onto its side.
A news release said three deputies who first arrived at the crash jumped into the water to rescue children. Authorities weren’t immediately saying how many children were in the bus, but they did say that the driver and all the students were accounted for.
It wasn’t immediately clear what caused the crash or if charges would be filed.
