SAVANNAH — A month after a deadly shooting on campus at Savannah State University there are still no arrests.
Now, the university has announced the campus Police Chief, Julian Coaxum, is taking a leave of absence. Officials told WTOC the leave is related to a personal matter.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation report the shooting occurred after the victim, Christopher Starks, got into a fight with a suspect. However, no arrests have been made.
Campus police have stepped up efforts to improve safety, including conducting a Campus Night Out event.
