QUINCY — A former Florida Highway Patrol Master Sergeant faces prison time after being found guilty of assaulting two female recruits.

Nicholas Causey, 52 and a 28-year veteran of the FHP was found guilty of assaulting the recruits when he entered their dorm rooms at the Florida Public Safety Institute in 2014.

Causey entered the recruits’ room, made sexual advances towards them, they groped the women.

Sentencing is pending, but Causey faces at least 3 years in prison for the offense.
