EDISON — An Edison woman has been charged with killing her own infant daughter.
Authorities say Breanna Middleton, 20 of Edison, called Edison Police shortly after midnight, Wednesday June 3rd, to her home at 133 Tower Drive, regarding her daughter being unresponsive, seven-week old Kamryn.
A police officer performed CPR on the baby, but she didn’t respond. EMS took the baby to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead, according to reports from WALB.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation looked into the death with a preliminary scan showed bleeding on the brain. An autopsy was performed the next morning finding brain damage on the young girl.
Middleton was arrested the next day is currently being held in the Calhoun County jail.
She faces five charges including Family Violence Battery, Cruelty to Children in the First Degree, Cruelty to Children in the Third Degree, Felony Murder, and Malice Murder.
