ALBANY — Susan Embert faces more charges today, after the state said she poisoned her husband, Jake Embert, before he was found shot to death.

The incident happened in February this year.

At first, the husband’s death was ruled as a suicide, but Embert was indicted for murder after new evidence was discovered.

Prosecutors say the husband was going to the doctor to see why he felt so bad, but that Embert shot him, fearing her plot would unravel.

The state said they found traces of insecticide, antifreeze, and arsenic in his hair fibers.

She is charged with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, two counts, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

The District Attorney will not seek the death penalty.
