SAVANNAH — The events surrounding the tragic death of 5 Georgia Southern nursing students in an early morning vehicular accident on Interstate 16 west of Savannah continues as the mother of one of the victims has decided to sue.

Kim Deloach McQuaig has filed a wrongful death suit against Total Transportation of Mississippi related to the death of her daughter, 21-year old Abbie Deloach of Savannah.

The suit was filed in Bryan County, the scene of the accident, on Wednesday, seeking monetary damages from Total Transportation and its parent company, US X-Press Enterprises of Tennessee.

The driver of the truck is also under investigation by state authorities.
