TALLAHASSEE — FSU police have arrested a 24-year-old man after he allegedly attacked a female student on FSU’s campus.

A group of fraternity brothers told police when they pulled up to the Oglesby Union to practice for their Friday yard show they saw a white male, later identified as 24-year-old Patrick Furman, in a black hoodie with his body against a female.

They called police then followed Furman to the area around Degraff Hall in an attempt to keep eyes on him.

The female victim told police that she was walking home on Academic Way when Furman grabbed her from behind, wrapping his arms around her and grabbing her chest.

According to the police report the victim told authorities he tried to pull her away saying “come with me, just come with me.” The victim told him no, pushed his arms away, and ran.

Another witness said he saw the man pulling up his zipper as the female was running away.

FSU police say after following the man they took him into custody near the intersection of Georgia Street and Dewey Street.

Police say the victim couldn’t identify Furman, but three witnesses were able to positively identify him.

Furman is being charged with Battery, Aggravated Assault and Kidnapping.

According to records, Furman was sentenced to 5 years in prison in September of 2010 and had been released on Sunday.
