ATLANTA — What’s the best place in the state to raise a family?

The website FindtheBest.com rated all 159 counties in Georgia based on a criteria involving the availability of vice establishments, home ownership, unemployment, young population, and community level of education.

The site found Forsyth County north of Atlanta, as the state’s best.  It scored 90 out of 100.  Second was Oconee County, with a score of 89.6.

In South Georgia, Pierce and Camden scored over 80, while closer to home, Berrien was the highest, with a score of 69.8.  Lowndes was mid-range with a score of 64.5.  Colquitt, Cook and Lanier counties scored above 50, while Brooks, Echols and Clinch ranked under 30.
