ATLANTA — Georgia has postponed the scheduled execution of Kelly Gissendaner due to problems with the lethal injection drug.

State officials reported that the drug appeared cloudy and postponed the execution to allow a pharmacist time to inspect the drug.  The reasoning was stated as an abundance of caution.

Gissendaner, whose crimes were reported in detail last week in Valdosta Today, is the only female currently on death row in Georgia.
