ATLANTA — It’s budget time at the Capitol as state lawmakers began pouring over budget proposals from Governor Nathan Deal this week.
Total spending is expected to reach $45 billion with $11.9 billion proposed for K-12 and higher education.
Highlights include over a $500,000 would be set aside for hiring additional staff to process applications and complaints coming in to various professional licensing boards. Further, as much as $25,000 would be added to the salaries of State Supreme Court Justices.
