ATLANTA, GA – The parents of Kendrick Johnson, the Lowndes High student whose body was found inside a rolled-up gym mat, plan to hold a rally at the state Capitol in their son’s honor.
The body of 17 year old Kendrick Johnson was found Jan. 11, and the Sheriff’s investigators concluded that he died in a freak accident. Johnson’s parents, however, insist someone must have killed their child. The “Who Killed K.J.” rally is set for today on the steps of the Capitol. Organizers say a number of well-known figures are expected to speak a the rally.
U.S. Attorney Michael Moore said in October that he would be preforming a formal review of the case. He believes there is sufficient evidence to warrant a criminal civil rights investigation that the FBI will conduct.
