Just a few days after reports that 33 year old Geno Hayes was on hospice care at his parents’ home in Valdosta, the latest news has been confirmed that he passed away late Monday evening.

Hayes played college ball at Florida State University before entering the NFL and playing for Tampa Bay, Chicago, and Jacksonville. He suffered from chronic liver disease and had been placed on the transplant list at both Mayo and Northwestern Medicine.

He leaves behind a wife and two children, family, friends, and fans.
