Release:

Our Best Week yet of Providing Meals to Students

Our School Nutrition Department and school system volunteers provided 11,212 meals to Lowndes County students last week, April 27- May 1! This is a labor of love and teamwork!  Still adhering to social distancing guidelines, a “Drive-Thru” pickup took place.

In addition to meals, student instructional packets were also available for pick up.  Even with our students being away from the school building, Lowndes County Schools want to make sure they are receiving meals and academic resources.

We will resume providing meals and instructional packets for students  Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, May 4, 6, and 8! The meal sites are Hahira Middle School, Lowndes Middle School, Pine Grove Middle School, Clyattville Elementary School, and Moulton-Branch Elementary School.

The student does not have to attend the school that is serving. Any student who attends Lowndes County Schools is eligible to pick up a meal from the site that is most convenient for them.  Students do NOT have to be in the car during meal pickup.  Distribution will be from 12 noon – 1:00 pm.
