VALDOSTA, Ga.— Lowndes County Schools has released an official site for updates on how they are instructed to proceed with cancellations related to the Coronavirus’ spread. They will be updating this information Thursday, March 26 with the latest mandate from the Governor Kemp’s office.

We know that everyone is concerned and wondering when our schools will reopen. Today, Tuesday, March 24, we were asked to wait until Thursday, March 26, before issuing any information on the closure extensions for our schools.

We understand everyone has questions and we are doing everything that we can to answer them as quickly as possible. Lowndes County Schools has created a dedicated COVID-19 website with academic resources, meal distributions, and many other resources:

As soon as we receive further direction from the Governor Kemp’s Office, we will communicate those details.
