Who is WNBA Atlanta Dream Co-Owner Kelly Loeffler?

ATLANTA, Ga. – With the recent tug-of-war involving the soon-to-be-empty Georgia senatorial seat, some might be wondering just who Kelly Loeffler is.

As Georgia Governor Brian Kemp’s firm pick for Republican Senator Johnny Isakson’s replacement once he vacates the position due to health concerns, some in the political arena are scratching their heads over this left-field pick.

Loeffler is the Chief Executive Officer of an Atlanta-based bitcoin trading platform, and a co-owner and co-chair of WNBA Atlanta Dream, the first women-owned pro sports team in Georgia.

On Atlanta Dream’s website/About page, Loeffler’s bio says:

As a result of her own positive experiences gained through athletic participation, she is an advocate of combining education and sports to contribute to the success of young people from the classroom to the workplace.

Loeffler has over 20 years of experience in financial services, beginning her career in the automotive industry, holding marketing and operations roles at Toyota Motor Sales, USA.

She is also a member of Georgia Power’s Board of Directors, active as a Board Trustee for Georgia Research Alliance, and is on the boards of Grady Memorial Hospital Corporation, Skyland Trail, and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.

Loeffler earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and completed a Master of Business Administration from DePaul University’s Kellstadt Graduate School of Business at. She is a CFA charterholder.
