VECA teacher selected for Apple Distinguished Educator Class of 2015

VALDOSTA — Valdosta Early College Academy teacher, Johnnie Marshall, Jr., was selected to be a member of the Apple Distinguished Educator (ADE) Class of 2015. Since 2012, Johnnie Marshall has played a leading role in the implementation and maintenance of the 1:1 iPad Initiative at VECA. Through his work with helping create an Apple Ecosystem for VECA, Mr. Marshall has provided professional development and support to teachers and students. In addition, Mr. Marshall orchestrated the student leadership group, vTech Squad, to assist with iPad maintenance.

The Apple Distinguished Educator Program began in 1994, when Apple recognized K-12 and higher education pioneers who are using a variety of Apple products to transform teaching and learning in powerful ways. Today it has grown into a worldwide community of over 2,000 visionary educators and innovative leaders who are doing amazing things with Apple technology in and out of the classroom.
