Valdosta Criminal Activity Results in Arrests, Indictments

VALDOSTA — A spate of criminal activity in and around Valdosta was followed up by suspects in custody and indictments.

Burglary suspects, 22-year old Nathaniel Ware Jr., James Jenrette age 17, and 17-year old Deontre Crompton have been arrested. They are charged with burglary and other crimes in connection with a residential break-in in the 2900 block of Callaway Circle. Police were notified of the burglary in progress and thanks to the anonymous tip police were able to apprehend the suspects.

The Valdosta Police Department investigators are searching for the suspects wanted in connection with a home invasion and robbery. The incident took place on Prince Cove and the female victim was reportedly robbed of $500.

Assault suspect, 23-year old Darius T. Lane of Valdosta has been indicted by a Lowndes County Grand Jury. His charges included aggravated assault connected to a March altercation between Lane and another man during which shots were fired in the Magnolia-west street area. Police reported that one of the bullets struck a residence; inside was a mother and her three month old child. Lane was found to be in possession of an AK-47 assault weapon. His sentencing date is set for December 17.
