NASHVILLE — Berrien and Lowndes County law enforcement, as well as the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are investigating a home invasion in Nashville.

After a high speed chase, two suspects were captured by law enforcement outside of Ray City Wednesday morning.  The Berrien County Sheriff’s Office says that a woman was held at gun point at her home by Jimmy Kyle Hooks, 22, and Corey Lamont Kay, 20.  Once the victim called law enforcement, the stolen vehicle was located with the 2 suspects inside, which initiated the chase.

Officials searched a cotton field for evidence related to the crime, thought dropped by the suspects.  The suspects wrecked their Jeep Cherokee after the chase off of Georgia Highway 64.

Berrien County Sheriff Anthony Heath was injured during the pursuit.

WALB reported that Sheriff Heath said he was injured in his hand and wrist when he used his truck to ram the suspects’ Jeep Cherokee.  One of the suspects was also injured, twice from gunshots fired by deputies, and is undergoing treatment at South Georgia Medical Center.

Authorities also stated the two suspects were firing shots at them during the chase, even in populated areas.

The two suspects were arrested immediately after Sheriff Heath rammed their vehicle.
