VSU-Read-Fest-2VALDOSTA, GA – Valdosta State University’s Odum Library and Student Council of the International Reading Association hosted Read Fest 2014 on April 25 on the West Hall front lawn.

Roughly 276 prekindergarten students from area schools attended the annual event and spent the morning participating in a variety of VSU-Read-Fest-1activities, including crafts, games, puppet shows, read-along stories, coloring, and music.

The purpose of the event is to promote literacy in the community by getting the children excited about reading at an early age.

VSU has hosted Read Fest since 2006.
