Valdosta Middle School to Install Fencing Around Track

VMS-AerialVALDOSTA, GA – Valdosta Middle School will be installing fencing around the perimeter of the track from March 17 through April 30 to ensure the safety of students.  Once the construction of the fencing project has been completed, the hours of availability for usage of the track will change.  The priority is to maintain a safe, uninterrupted, educational environment for students, so during the school day, which is from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., the track will not be open to the public.

“If the public would like to come before the school day begins, after the school day ends or anytime on the weekends, we do not mind.  However, when our school is in session, the new fencing will be closed and locked to make sure that our students are able to utilize the track for their physical education classes uninterrupted and safely,” said E. Martin Roesch, superintendent of Valdosta City Schools.
