BOE-Brooks-CountyQUITMAN, GA – School Board Members are ordinary people who have an extraordinary dedication to our public schools.  As citizens who serve children and represent their communities, school board members spend numerous hours each year in adopting policies and making pertinent decisions to ensure that students are afforded the opportunity to participate in engaging instruction and rewarding school-sponsored opportunities.    They help to establish a vision for the education program, design a structure to achieve that vision, assure schools are accountable to the community and strongly advocate continuous improvement in student learning.

The Brooks County School Board is an advocate for public schools and is responsible for communicating the needs of the school district to the public and the public’s expectation to the district.

March 17-21, 2014 has been recognized as School Board Recognition Week in Georgia. This is a time to show appreciation and to begin to better understand how school board members work together to provide leadership for the Brooks County Schools. The Brooks County School Board works with parents, staff, and community members to create the educational vision we want for our students.

This week, join with others throughout the state to salute the men and women who provide grassroots governance of public schools.  Make a special effort to express to each school board member his or her hard work has been noticed and is very much appreciated.  These are dedicated individuals who are committed to the continuing success of our schools and students.
