Shop with a CopVALDOSTA, GA – The Ninth Annual Shop with a Cop program was once again a success for law enforcement agencies in the Valdosta and Lowndes County area this year. Twenty -five kids and their families were helped by the donations and money raised by local law enforcement agencies and businesses.

Organizations involved in this year’s event included Valdosta Police Department, Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia State Patrol, Moody Air Force Base, Department of Motor Safety, Remerton Police Department, Echols County Sheriff’s Office, and Valdosta State University Police. Fundraisers held by local businesses helped raise enough money for 26 gift cards with $252 on each gift card distributed to the 25 children. The last gift card was held as a surprise for the one child who took the time to say hello to the police officers in Walmart.

The kids and their families were treated with a pizza party after the shopping was over. Valdosta Police Officer Vernotis Williams, the event organizer, said he was very appreciative of everyone who helped make this event through their donations.
