Lacey, like many others on Black Friday, trudged out to find bargains. Here’s what she brought home.
NYX Chunky Dunk Lippies: I got these at ULTA during a mad dash. My goal was to find a simple, maroon lip color which would be suitable for Fall and Winter, but which wouldn’t be too dark or too heavy. I think I’ve achieved it with this pack. I loft the soft, subtle hint of juicy color that really packs a punch. I wear mine over my Burt’s Bee’s Original Lip Balm which provides the perfect waxy foundation for ultimate in color and staying power.
J Crew Red Sweater and Cheers Sweater: When I rushed into J Crew I had several items in mind, but mainly, I was really looking for a bright red sweater for the upcoming holidays. I love that this one is 100% wool as well as that it can be dressed up or dressed down. When I saw the Cheers! sweater right next to it, (both of them are still 50% off), how could I not buy them both?
Fuzzy Socks: Everyone needs fuzzy socks for the colder weather. I love wearing mine underneath my riding boots as they keep my feet warm and comfy all day long.
ULTA Contour Kit: This pretty much speaks for itself. Contouring has become such a huge aspect of many makeup routines. I love contouring my face as well from time to time, but I’ve been hating that I have to take out or pack 4 or 5 different products that all do different things. That’s why I love this contour kit. I apply mine wet after my foundation, and slowly blend everything with a dense, angled brush. However, I do use a separate brush for highlighter and bronzer.
Coach Domed Satchel (Carmel and Red): I love that this bag is the perfect size and that it is customizable. It can easily be carried on the wrist or adjusted into a cross body bag with the attached strap. This is very handy when I need a bag to be multiple things in multiple ways in one day i.e.:breakfast carrier, iPad carrier, evening bag, etc. It also doesn’t hurt that, at the Coach Outlet in Woodstock, this was 75% off—making them only $60 a piece!
European Wax Center Eyebrow Kit: This eyebrow shaping powder stays on ALL DAY. I also layer it with my Up All Night Makeup Set Spray from Urban Decay for ultimate durability. I love that the powder can be applied dry or wet and it never looks too harsh. Pick some up at your local European Wax Center today!
Gap Down and Wool Puffer Vest: Get yours before it’s gone. This vest, originally $100, is part of Gap’s 50% off sale making it only $49.99 today only! I love that it is made of such high quality fabrics which will really keep me warm–like wool and down. I also adore the oversized hood. A nice vest like this can easily be dressed up with riding boots and a black dress, or dressed down with jeans and a henley. Perfect for the holidays when we never know what we’ll be doing, but we always know we need to be warm.
Books: Finally, I had to pick up a couple of books because, as a teacher and writer, I am lucky to have some time off around the holidays to read and relax. The one I am most excited to read out of the ones I picked up is Holidays on Ice by David Sedaris–one of my favorite essayists.
