GDOT adds high new tech to metro Atlanta traffic lights

Share with friends

The Georgia Department of Transportation is undergoing a major project to implement technologies in metro Atlanta that will allow drivers to know if they can catch a green light. The technology was introduced to the GDOT at a recent hackathon by a group named ETALYC. They plan for this program to also warn of red lights ahead and upcoming pedestrian traffic. With assistance from ETAYLYC, the GDOT sees this infrastructure as a “soon-to-be-reality” in traffic lights throughout Georgia.
