FL Senate Passes Ban On ‘Internet Cafes’

FL state capitolWhat was thought to be a tough vote to ban so-called Internet cafes in the state of Florida turned out to be anything but, with the Senate voting 36-4 to get rid of the businesses. The law was spearheaded by John Thrasher or St. Augustine, who called the vote ‘a positive thing for our state…and our citizens.’

The vote comes on the heels of a large, multi-state scam run by Allied Veterans of the World. It was that company and their actions that led to the resignation of Lt. Governor Jennifer Carroll.

Some legislators, particularly from south Florida, opposed the ban. They claimed it would result in the closure of ‘senior arcades’ near Boca Raton and Naples.
